Ingredients:
2 cups of rice-We use Uncle Bens
1 stick of butter
2 cups of broth for each cup of rice
Couple hand fulls of fine egg noodles (can substitute with angel hair pasta broken into 2-inch pieces)
2 tsp salt
Procedure:
- Brown noodles in butter
- Turn off heat
- Add rice
- Add broth
- Add salt
- Bring the contents of your pan to a boil
- Turn heat to low medium
- Cover and simmer
- Turn off the heat once most of the liquid is absorbed
- Leave the cover on and let sit for 10 min before transporting into a dish
Shortcuts:
Brown your noodles in the oven, let them cool and put them in a bag that is air-tight. Seal and use them whenever you need them.
Procedure if using pre-browned noodles:
- Add your butter to the pan and brown it, which means your cook it until the butter looks brown.
- Add your rice and stir it in the browned butter,
- Add your noodles, broth, and salt.
- Stir
- Bring to a boil
- Cover
- Turn heat to low
- Turn off the heat once most of the liquid is absorbed
- Leave the cover on and let sit for 10 minutes
- Stir and serve
